Travelinspiration | preparing for New York [neighbourhoods part I]
New York has always been a dream of mine (and also fixed many of you). I am very sensitive to movies with NY as setting. Perhaps my obsession started ever and perhaps NY will awfully be disappointing. But oh what am I stoked! Sometimes I’ll have to pinch myself, but I’m going to New York!
In addition to the ticket, my friend and I settled nothing yet. After some research and neighborhood- spy there are several neighborhoods in NY, each with their (international) charm (and where I can book an overnight stay). Because there are so many I have split this inspiration in parts. Today part 1 from the selection neighbourhoods of New York.
Manhattan New York
The island of Manhattan is best known and the most popular district of New York. In Manhattan you will find the most highlights of New York and this district is also seen as the main district of New York. Hotspots: Times Square, Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Terminal and so on.
Queens New York
Queens is the largest borough of New York and consists of Long Island City, Jamaica, Flushing and Far Rockaway. Hotspots: Sport (the Mets baseball!)
Brooklyn New York
Brooklyn does not have the best name of New York, but it seems that most New Yorkers live in Brooklyn and that it is pretty awesome over there. Hotspots: Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Bridge, Coney Island, Prospect Park Zoo, hipster neighborhood Williamsburg and Coney Island.
The Bronx New York
The Bronx is perhaps known because of Jennifer Lopez’s hit. More than half of the population of The Bronx is from Spanish origin. Hotspots: home of the New York Yankees.
In which area did you sleep or would you ever want to spend a few nights?
